Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week. A reflective time for Christians around the world commemorating the final days of Jesus Christ’s life, passion, crucifixion, and resurrection.
For me, it’s a sober realization that a human being, a divine human being, God in the flesh, died on the cross for me. A selfless act to free me of my sins and bondage. No other religion can say that. Think about it.
And here’s something else to think about. In the Bible, you can read the accounts of Jesus’s journey to Jerusalem in Matthew 21:1-11, and Luke 19:28-40. One day, the multitudes are singing Hosanna in the highest, and then several days later, the same celebrated Jesus is hung on the cross, persecuted. Not for what He did, rather what He said and taught.
It’s the same with life. One day, you’re on top of the world, and the next, you’re not. It’s the ebb and flow of humanity. We, humans, err, we are fickle and are not always good. That’s the reality. We live in a fallen world filled with temptation and deception. But the Bible tells us not to put our trust in man, but in God. It’s in the middle of the Bible in Psalm 118:8. Check it out.
This week, especially, I will stay close to the Lord in prayer and reflection. He is my refuge, my fortress, and my anchor. (Psalm 91:2 )
I invite you to listen to a beautiful song, “Stay” by Zahriya Zachary.
It sums it up… Lord, I will stay tethered to you.
To whom will you stay tethered?
Until next time…
Be well. Be safe. Be happy!
